On a walk around The Rocks in Sydney with a friend we cut through the terrace houses to Pottinger Street. As we appeared from between the terraces looking down the curve of Pottinger Street and rising before us was the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There was the NSW Flag and the Australian Flags flying. Where was the flag of our First Nations People? Did you know the symbol of the oldest culture in Australia only flys on the Harbour Bridge for 19 out of the 365 days of the year? Whilst there is a campaign to raise funds to erect another flag pole for the Indigenous flag, at least for now in this painting it will fly every day in recognition.
