In creating the paintings for "Echoes of the Earth," my inspiration draws deeply from the serene yet powerful presence of the ocean. The ever-changing moods and endless horizons of the ocean, serves as a metaphor for the inner worlds of the people esp women depicted in my paintings. I am captivated by how the ocean reflects both tranquility and strength, offering a space where one can be introspective while also feeling the energy and pulse of the natural world. My intention is to capture these moments of quietude and connection, where the people in my paintings find solace and empowerment within the vastness of the sea.
The interplay between the human figure and the environment is central to my work. By depicting women immersed in ocean pools or riding the waves, I aim to celebrate the profound relationship between humans and nature. These scenes are not just about physical activity but are symbolic of the emotional and spiritual nourishment that nature provides. The ocean becomes a sanctuary, a place where these women can disconnect from the demands of daily life and reconnect with themselves and the Earth. Through my art, I hope to convey a sense of reverence for these moments of stillness and connection, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the natural world.
The recurring themes of reflection and self-discovery are woven throughout my work, inspired by the idea that nature, particularly the ocean, has a unique ability to mirror our inner states. Whether it's the rhythmic lapping of waves or the meditative stillness of an ocean pool, these elements serve as reminders of the importance of taking time to be present, to listen to the "echoes" of our own thoughts and emotions, as well as those of the Earth. My work in this exhibition is an invitation to pause, to appreciate the beauty and resilience of nature, and to consider our role in preserving these moments of connection for future generations.
